Honouring the Aussie spirit

Lismore Australia Day Citizen of the Year nominees Tony Zillig (left) and Lindsay Matterson, the Lismore SES controller, will find out if they are being honoured with an Australia Day award today (Thursday, January 26) during celebrations at Lismore City Hall.

Originally from Switzerland, Tony Zillig came to Australia 36 years ago for a two-year holiday, and loved the country so much he decided to stay.

Im a citizen of the world but also a very proud Australian and Im humbled to be nominated for this award, he said.
