Capoeira master in Lismore
Capoeira Angola is an African-Brazilian artform a fluid and rhythmic martial art; a ritual; a dance. The intricate movements of capoeira Angola weave African tradition, history, spirituality, and philosophy into a beautiful game.
Capoeira Angola is played in a roda (circle) and is inspired by the music and singing. A capoeirista is considered an artist, musician, athlete, player and poet.
Mestre Roxinho is from Bahia, Brazil, and is the only capoeira Angola Master of Lineage in Australia. Hell be running a series of workshops and demonstrations at Silver Cloud Studios in South Lismore this weekend that is open to all ages and abilities.
This first-ever local Capoeira Angola event starts this Friday night, May 30, from 6.30pm and runs over the weekend.
