A new age of netball opens

Ballina RSL came away with a 43-23 win over Byron 2481 in the opening round of the new Far North Coast Premier Netball League due to accurate shooting by Kelly Edwards and Amie Clarke. The team was sharp in attack and tight in defence across the court with captain Kaylie Davis praising her players for the consistent effort.

Its great to have the opportunity to play a high standard game and to realise there are other club players within the area with such good skills, Davis said. She believes her team will grow from strength to strength each week and looks forward to the challenge of competing against the other regional teams.

In other games Casino Tatts had a 36-24 win over Grafton DEX while Lismore Daleys won against Clarence Coast 45-33 at Maclean.

Next Saturday Casino Tatts host Ballina RSL from 3pm, Lismore Daleys host Grafton DEX from 2pm and Byron 2481 host Clarence Coast at 3.15pm.
