Sunglasses with attitude

Look out! That angry man in the Ray Bans is in Byron. For Gods sake, dont heckle Austen Tayshus. (And be there on time.)

The comedian who wrote Australiana in 1983 (which became a huge hit for him) will bring his sunglasses, black three-piece suit and wicked sense of humour to the Byron Services Club next Monday, May 12.

One of the most impressive qualities about Austen Tayshus is his sense of danger. He loves to take performance and audiences to the edge. He sees himself as on a mission to rediscover just what it is to be Australian. His stand-up calls into question, over and over again, our cultural values, our bigotry and our personal politics.

He says things that you wouldnt dare think. Hes a cultural provocateur who loves a challenge. Lets face it, hes rude. But funny.

Mandy Nolan is MC and Mullum mumma Ellen Briggs is support. Tickets are $20/15 and can be booked by phoning 6684 3443, or get them from the club.
