New league no place for the faint-hearted

All six of the netball associations that make up the Far North Coast region will be fielding strong teams in the inaugural Premier Netball League this Saturday, organiser Leslie Kirk said.

Its unknown how the sides will preform but you can be certain that each association will put forward a strong team, Kirk said. There wont be any faint-hearted players in this league. It is an exciting time for netball. This netball premier league will be striving towards providing high quality elite competition.

The first round in the 10-round home and away competition is on Saturday, May 3, as Ballina host Byron at 3pm, Casino welcome Grafton at 2pm, while Lismore will travel to the Lower Clarence for their opener at 3pm.

Often good players take time away from the game to have babies and raise a family, Kirk said. We are hoping this will encourage them back into the game.

Games are free for spectators. For a full draw, updated results and news about the Far North Coast regional netball programs visit www.netballnsw.com (regional menu item).
