Fernleigh photographer Helena Armstrong photographed this Brunswick resident for last years Visions of the Valley photo competition, a part of the Brunswick Valley Nature Festival.

One local photographer will be walking away with $450 at this years Brunswick Valley Nature Festival in June. Thats first prize in the festivals Visions of the Valley competition for the best photograph that captures the natural beauty of the Brunswick Valley.

The photos can be of the landscape or of the rich diversity of wildlife within the Brunswick catchment.

Prizes are $450 for the overall winner, $250 for second prize, and $150 for third. Therell also be a $150 peoples choice award.

The festival celebrates World Environment Day and this years theme is conserving the biodiversity ofthe Brunswick Valley.

Entrants can submit digital or film images with a maximum of three entries per photographer which can be lodged at the Brunswick Valley Nature Festival desk at the Byron Shire Council office in Mullumbimby between 10am and 4pm from Tuesday, May 27, to Thursday, May 29.
