Take a stand for a vision of Lismore

I believe the city of Lismore is at a watershed moment in its history. With money and people rushing to the coast, it is time to make a stand and show the region we are the hub of the Northern Rivers and will be so in the years to come.

Casino, Ballina and Byron are all growing fast and can only be strengthened by the city of Lismore providing vision and development for the region. We need representatives who share the passions of local people and want to see Lismore hailed as a city of the future.

I ask the people of Lismore to not settle for the status quo. I believe Lismore can do a better job of providing support for development so families can find a home. Small businesses, in which the majority of locals are employed, deserve a greater say in moving our city forward. And our local sporting organisations and cultural groups, where local families come together, need better facilities for their use. To use a bad movie quote, If you build it, they will come.

My family has lived in Lismore since the early dirt roads spread out from the CBD, and I want my children to have the option of living here in the future. This will only be realistic if we, as a community, talk up the great things Lismore has done and will do in the future. If we provide jobs and places to live, if we build facilities for families to use, Lismore can once again show the region we are the capital of the Northern Rivers.
