Koori art award open

The National Parks and Wildlife Service Northern Rivers Region Aboriginal Art Award is open for entries. Deadline for submissions is May 30 and the Award will be on display at the Tweed River Gallery in Murwillumbah from July 3 to August 3.

NPWS regional manager Mark Johnston said, Aboriginal artists of all ages and levels of experience, who reside in or are associated with the Northern Rivers region, are invited to submit entries exploring the theme Express Respect.

And theres some money on offer $3000 and $1000 open prizes, a $1000 award for artists under the age of 18, a $1000 award for a collaborative work by Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal artists, and a $1000 peoples choice award.

Artwork can be delivered to Tweed River Art Gallery or to Lismore or Grafton Regional Galleries as well as Roxy Gallery at Kyogle.
