In like Flynn

Aussie Idol Bobby Flynn is coming to Bangalow. He can really sing. You be the judge.

Bobby Flynn gave Australian Idol a whirl in 2006 and the singer, songwriter and musician did well, stamping his own style onto songs.

I love the fact that he turns genres upside down, Idol judge Mark Holden said. (And quoting Mark Holden is a first for The Scene. It wont happen again.)

But when he left the show he returned to his band The Omega 3. After a lot of touring, they recorded Out Front last year, settling in Byron Bay to produce the album themselves.

Bobby took the album title from Tom Wolfes 60s psychedelic classic, The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test.

When youre on the road, living with people closely and creating together, every moment has to be as out front as possible, Bobby explained. And this is a record drenched in energy from the road.

Bobby is proving hes more than a disposable idol hes in for the long rockin haul.

Bobby Flynn and the Omega 3 will perform at the A&I Hall in Bangalow on Friday, April 4, from 8pm. Support is Dan Parsons.

Food is available from 7.30pm.

Tickets are $25/22 and available from www.oztix.com.au or at the door.
