Rotary Club announces Bridal Fair

For a small club, the Rotary Club of Summerland Sunrise certainly has a big year ahead.

The eighth annual Bridal Fair is being held on Sunday, June 1, at the Goonellabah Workers Sports Club. Preparations are well underway and exhibitors are looking forward to displaying their wedding products. The club is looking forward to a great day with bridal fashion parades, lucky draws and other events. For more information phone 6683 4107.

On Saturday, August 16, the club is holding their Debutante Ball at the Lismore Workers Club. This year, the proceeds will be shared between Southern Cross LADS (Learn About Driving Skills) and local community projects of the Rotary Club of Summerland Sunrise. If you would like to register to make your debut, phone Kerry on 6622 0444 or Michael on 6622 8028.

In more recent news, Roger Fry from the Life Saver Rescue Helicopter will be guest speaker at the clubs breakfast meeting on Friday, April 11, and Meike Bell will be updating the club on the homeless shelter shortly. Phone 6683 4107 if you would like to join the club for breakfast.

German get together

Speakers of German and people wanting to practice or improve their German are invited to a special get together on Tuesday, April 1.

This is the first meeting of Deutsche Gruppe, which will meet regularly on the first Tuesday of every month in Lismore.

There will be refreshments (with a German touch) and a German library, so bring along any German books, magazines, sheet music, comics... anything you want to part with and donate to the library. You might even find some treasures amongst what others have brought along.

The aim of the get together is to meet new people, make new connections, have a great time and of course practice the German language.

The inaugural meeting is on Tuesday, April 1, at the Lismore Neighbourhood Centre from 1.30-3.30pm and entry is by gold coin. For more information phone Sabina on 6688 6214 or Helen 6624 4537.
