Perma-Cuban-culture

Cuban permaculturalist Roberto Perez will appear at Djanbung Gardens in Nimbin (6689 1755, 0429 147 138) this Friday night, March 14, at 6.30pm for dinner and interesting conversations, and at SCU in Lismore (6625 0565, 0448 537 422) this Saturday, March 15, from 9am-3pm.

During Robertos six-week speaking tour of Australia he will give over 30 presentations about Cubas battle for sustainability to an estimated 10,000 people.

Robyn Francis of Djanbung Gardens Permaculture in Nimbin initiated the tour.

The Cubans feel deeply grateful to Australia for bringing permaculture to Cuba in 1993, she said. Australia has much to learn from the Cuban experience as we address the changes required to reduce our fuel consumption and greenhouse emissions.

Roberto will talk about food security, urban agriculture and organic farming during his presentations.
