A better sax life

Jamie Oehler likes to blow hard. And hell blow the roof off the Winnie when he plays in Lismore next Tuesday.

Recently voted Australian Jazz Musician of the Year at the Australian Jazz Awards and winner of Best Contemporary Jazz CD two years running, Jamie Oehler with his band The Assemblers will swing the Winsome Hotel next Tuesday, March 18, when they feature at the weekly Jazz N Blues night.

Since the release of their first CD, Assemblers, Jamie and the band have been performing throughout Asia, Europe, Australia and New Zealand at festivals like the Montreux Jazz Festival (Switzerland), Edinburgh Festival (Scotland), London Jazz Festival, Galway Festival (Ireland), Brecon Jazz Festival (Wales), World Expo (Japan) and more.

Jamie was the winner of the 2003 World Saxophone Competition held at the Montreux Jazz Festival. This man can play!

The Assemblers are Jamie on sax, Sam Keevers on piano, Sam Anning on the bass and Ben Vanderwal slapping the drums.

The hot riffs start at 8.30pm. Entry is $12/8.
