Breast cancer support grants

Breast cancer support grants

Community groups, volunteer organisations and health providers are being urged to apply for seeding grants of up to $10,000 to improve community-based support for women with breast cancer in areas where access to treatment and support services can be difficult.

The grants are funded by the Polo Ralph Lauren Pink Pony Campaign and administered by the National Breast and Ovarian Cancer Centre.

The centres program manager, Caroline Nehill, said women with breast cancer faced a range of emotional, psychological and physical issues after their diagnosis and access to local support services could make it easier to cope with and improve a womans quality of life throughout her treatment.

For more information visit www.breasthealth.com.au/pinkpony or phone the centre on 9357 9414. Applications close April 25.
