Take a walk on the wild side

The Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo is celebrating the arrival of two new elephants by giving away a family pass to this incredible 300-hectare animal park.

Arna and Gigi are ex-circus elephants who, instead of being paraded around, will now spend their days lounging in their new mud wallows and custom-made swimming pool along with the zoos resident Asian elephant Burma.

The pass we have to giveaway is for two adults and two kids and includes a Wild Africa Encounter gift voucher for the whole family, which entitles you to a special behind-the-scenes tour where you get to interact with the animals up close and even personally feed them. The whole package is worth more than $160 and is valid until the end of August, so youve got plenty of time to plan the trip south.

As well as being able to roam around the zoo and see some of Africas most awesome animals (they have everything from giraffes and lions to hippos and rhinos) the Western Plains Zoo has keeper presentations every day, free barbecues, waterholes and bush trails to explore, bike riding and much more.

To go in the draw to win the family pass phone The Echo on 6622 2888 between 10 & 10.15am next Monday, March 17, and tell us which is larger: an African elephant or an Asian elephant?
