Inspect Gadgets

Nice suit Joel. Debonair and talented Joel Salom is bringing his new show to Lismore on Thursday to kick off the NORPA season.

At the Lismore launch of this years NORPA season of shows, I was surprised to be entertained by a talking mechanical dog!

And not only did the dog talk, it did so with considerable smart-arse attitude. (Bark with bite.) The dogs name is Erik and hes a shiny star of NORPAs first show of the season, Gadgets.

Featuring Circus Oz star Joel Salom, Gadgets is a funny and techno-smart event combining laser technology and live music with Joels spectacular rhythmic juggling and comic performance style.

(Joel combines music and juggling in one part of the show by using sensors on his arms which are triggered by juggling balls...)

Gadgetss musicians, Jim Dunlop and Marko Simec, perform a mix of pop, classical, death metal and jazz fused with gypsy swing.

With juggling, physical theatre and beats theres plenty of improvisation and audience participation in this clever music and circus event.

And special guest Erik the Dog is an irreverent, smooth-talking, remote-controlled tin terrier with plenty to say.

Gadgets hits the stage at the Star Court Theatre in Lismore next Thursday and Friday, March 13 and 14, from 8pm.

Tickets are $37/32/20 and available from 1300 066 772 or online at Or visit the NORPA box office at Lismore City Hall.
