Back to the Bowlo

The Stephen Jackson (pictured) Octet will perform this Sunday, March 2, at the Lismore City Bowlo with support by SweatyMcCafferty and the International Polka All-Stars.

The Stephen Jackson Octet features Stephens highly intricate arrangements and some of the finest improvisers on the Northern Rivers playing a broad spectrum of styles. From bebop to Latin to abstract to gypsy swing toshuffle funk to groove to ballads to down home blues, this octet has it covered.

Joining them are the International Polka All-Stars, a comedy act featuring a sousaphone, trombone, trumpet, guitar, and traps. Often given to outlandish behaviourand rabble rousing raucousness, this band will have the audience in fits of giggles withtheir lighthearted approach to New Orleans folk music.

This special afternoon of music kicks off at 2pm. The Lismore City Bowlo is right in the heart of town, just next to the Memorial Baths.
