Adopting art with brush and flash

Lina Eve is a Cawongla artist who lost her child to adoption, like so many thousands of other women did in Australia during the 60s and 70s.

Through this experience Lina has created a series of challenging and emotional paintings, drawings and computer-generated works called Bad Girl.

Sharing stories, songs, laughter and tears with adoptees and adopting parents has been an enriching and healing experience that has inspired and informed her art.

People and Places is a collection of photographs capturing the special moments, moods and spirit of, well, people and places.

The opening for Bad Girl/People and Places is on at the Roxy Gallery in Kyogle this Friday, February 22, from 6-8pm. All are welcome.

The exhibition runs until March 15.
