LeBa paddle out for a new season

no caption sport - surfing kennedy

Lennox/Ballina (LeBa) boardriders held their first club round last Saturday at Lennox Head point. The marginal conditions early on improved on the lower tide and the surfing, especially in the blue ribbon open division, was exceptional. The standout was current Australasian junior series leader Stuart Kennedy (pictured) who executed some amazing vertical re-entries in the final. Dan Thompson also impressed on his twin fin 59 fish, flowing through some great carves and floaters.

There was also drama as cadet surfer Zac Russell survived being caught and crushed under a rock as he attempted to jump off. The club would particularly like to thank Matt Minmaw who picked up a few barnacle cuts while rescuing the pinned surfer.

Little LeBa was postponed on the Sunday due to the torrential rain but will be held this Sunday, weather permitting.
