Edifying Eddington

No caption in to set sport-fitness

The Department of Sport and Recreation will be holding a Certificate III in Fitness at Lennox Head this February and potential students should be warned that places are fast running out.

The 10-day Certificate III in Fitness is the first step towards gaining nationally recognised qualifications and can lead to a wide range of employment opportunities within the fitness industry.

Current NSWIS scholarship athlete and Australia Swim Team member Sophie Eddington (pictured), who has already signed up for the course, said while keeping fit was a great incentive for doing the course, helping others is also a big motivator.

I wanted to study fitness as I have loved sport my whole life, Sophie said. Being able to study the course locally is perfect for me.

Sophie is hoping to complete the Certificate III course by correspondence before moving on to the Certificate IV in Fitness: Personal Trainer course to be held at Lennox Head in March.

The course will run from February 11 to 22 at the Lake Ainsworth Sport and Recreation Centre.

For further information and enrolment forms phone NSW Sport and Recreation on 6618 0400.
