Junior Senior Classic

A host of local players took part in this years Junior Senior Bowls Classic in Ballina over the weekend, without any making the finals, though Amanda Cselka and Frank Vaulhan from Evans Head only just missed out.

The other local juniors who played in the event were Tommie Wedesweiler (Ballina), Catherine ONeill (East Lismore), Jake Nancarrow (Ballina), Mark Gannon (Lismore City), Alex Colligan (Alstonville), Josh Watts (Ballina), Luke Jones (Evans Head), Aaron Teys (Ballina), Stefanie Cselka (Evans Head) and Reece Wilson (Ballina).

The event was won by Andrew Szalkowski and Don Peoples from Musgrave Hill, a bowling club at Nerang in Queensland.

The event was started by the late Ben Stephens seven years ago to help promote junior bowls and the event has become a drawcard for some of the top junior bowlers in NSW and Queensland. This year 52 teams competed, the largest field ever.
