Survival Day battle

These hip hoppers are preparing for the Aussie Battlers comp to be held on Saturday by attending the weekly dance sessions at C-Blok in Lismore.

The seventh annual Aussie Battlers event held on Survival Day (this Saturday, January 26) brings together all the elements of hip hop culture breakdance, hip hop dance, MCing, DJing and graff displays for a massive day of comps and entertainment.

Theres a new slant to the event recognising and celebrating Survival Day the day Oz was invaded by the Brits.

Aussie Battlers will have hip hop routine comps and breakdance battles, MC battles and Cyphers, plus this year a special showcase section for people who would rather perform than compete. Theres also a pro graffiti art display from some of Australias best artists plus live performances, Survival Day Art and an Indigenous dance performance. Be sure to register early for the showcase so you dont miss out.

Aussie Battlers kicks off at 12pm at the Lismore PCYC (on the corner of Dawson and Orion Streets in Lismore) and will run till about 5pm. Entry is $5 (group and family discounts apply). For more info phone 0428 486 880 or email cpc@communityconnections.org.au.
