Lennox Heads Stuart Kennedy joined Mick Fanning, Dean Morrison and Bede Durbridge on the honour roll as a winner of the Kustom Jetty Surf Pro Junior at Bells Beach in Victoria on Sunday. The Bells Beach Pro Junior is the richest Pro Junior event in the southern hemisphere with $35,000 in prize money shared between three divisions.

The win was the best of Kennedys short career as he ripped and cutback to score 8.65 and an 8.0 in the final to defeat Gold Coast surfer Nick Vasicek in the solid 2m surf.

It was so good to win and especially in these waves, Kennedy said. Ive actually been training really hard over the last six months and building my fitness and strength for a serious go on the circuit this year and straight away it seems to have paid off.

We had to surf four times in rough and large surf and I felt strong and confident in the final despite knowing that I was really tired.
