Become a telephone counsellor

Lifeline is looking for more telephone counsellors and is conducting a training course from February 19 to April 10.

Lifeline takes over 5000 calls annually and is dependent on volunteers. They are currently seeking committed people who are looking to put something back into the community by being there for those people who call at any time from anywhere for a myriad of reasons.

Lifeline Northern Rivers says the skills learnt in training can be applied in everyday life as well as in a counselling scenario. Many describe the training as a life-changing experience as it has helped improved peoples confidence, self-esteem and communication skills, which helped volunteers personal relationships. It is also a chance to make new friends.

Application for the next counselling training course closes on February 1. For an information pack or application form, phone 6622 4133 or email lifeline@lis.net.au.
