Christmas Dance

South Gundurimba Halls next monthly dance held Fri, Dec 21 in the hall on Coraki Rd from 8pm. This will be our special Christmas Dance will all the fun of a party. Numerous prizes for those who dress in the Christmas spirit, plus several giveaways & prizes. Dancing to Vals music for Old Time, Modern & New Vogue dances. Choirs & carols

A Celebration of Nine Lessons & Carols with the combined choirs of St Andrews Anglican Church & St Carthages Cathedral held Fri, Dec 21 at St Marys Anglican Church in Ballina from 7.30pm. Following in the best tradition of Kings College, Cambridge, UK, the true story of Christmas in word & song will be presented locally, by local choirs. All welcome to come & enjoy the true spirit of Christmas with some sublime music & join in a selection of carols. Free entry.

Health workshop

Energy Medicine & Emotional Health, a workshop with Dr Jacqueline Boustany, will be held on Sat, Dec 22 at the Nimbin Regional (Rainbow) Gallery from 9am-12pm. Includes presentations such as Present Moment Awareness, Self Investigation/Validation & Integration via Feeling Realisation Technique, Reframing the Past with Neuro-Linguistic Programming & much more. Cost is $50 employed & $30 unemployed/pensioner. Includes morning tea.

Xmas Eve carols

A Christmas Eve Carol Service will be held in Pearces Creek Hall at 7pm. Hear the singing of favourite Christmas carols plus a message from the Salvation Army. Light supper to follow. All welcome.

Nativity Play

Free TAFE course

Lismore TAFE is offering a free course in 2008 called Introduction to Community Services for Women from Diverse Cultural & Linguistic Backgrounds. Runs from Feb 27 to June 27 2008, three days per week. The course is for unemployed women who want to improve their job opportunities in the Australian workforce. Includes an intro to working in the Community Services Industry & will teach skills in computers, writing a resume, applying for a job & English language. Interpreting course

Lismore TAFE is running a Interpreting Prepatory course starting April 28 2008 for people who want to prepare for the National Accreditation Authority for Translators & Interpreters (NAATI) test at the paraprofessional level. The course provides training in interpreting techniques, intercultural community skills & knowledge of the professional practices & ethics of interpreting. To enrol attend the info session held Thurs, Jan 31 at 11am at Lismore TAFE campus. Fee of $209 per semester (some people may be eligible for concession). Tertiary prep

Wollongbar TAFE is again offering the Tertiary Preparation Certificate IV in 2008. Designed for mature-aged students, this HSC equivalent course provides a highly-regarded preparation for university & is also suitable for students wishing to enter the Defence Forces. Wollongbar TAFE is offering a free womens course (CEW) in Semester 1, 2008. Designed for women interested in taking the first steps towards working in the childcare industry. This course can help you receive credit towards other childrens services courses. You will learn basic computer & job seeking skills, & it includes one weeks work experience.
