Poetry is the finger food of life

What do you call a bunch of poets? A party of poets? A flagon of poets? A rhyme of poets? A book of poets?

The Live Poets will celebrate their umpteenth end-of-year poetic bash with the annual Poets Banquet at the Rous Hotel in Lismore next Wednesday, December 19. This is the great coming together gathering for the years feature poets, slam winners and the annual Cup winner, together with long-time regular and visiting writers.

It is traditionally an enjoyable night with many poetic voices heard, the odd bottle of red drunk, and, of course, the poets supper provided during the interval.

Live Poets will then take a break until February. Entry is $6/4.

For more info phone David on 6688 6485.

Freebie: The Echo has a double pass to give away to some poetically inclined person. To go in the draw to win phone 6622 2888 between 10.30 and 10.45am next Monday, December 17, and tell us the name of a living poet. Yes, thats the question. Hint: John Laws is NOT a poet. Or alive, really.
