African dance bliss... in Lismore!

Mr Gudu will bring Zimbabwe (the good bits) to Lismore this Saturday in a concert of African rhythms.

In Zimbabwe, Chris Kayana Gudu was witness to the changes from white minority rule to independence to the more recent socio-economic catastrophe.

Although hes now based in Australia, this bass player, singer and drummer still maintains close ties with his home country the origin of his music.

His songs have many messages, especially of peace. Peace for the world... peace for Zimbabwe. There is no political motivation for his message, just a gentle raising of awareness with powerful and not-so-gentle rhythms.

You can experience the cool and sweaty beats of Zimbabwe when Chris and his seven-piece band play the Star Court Theatre in Lismore this Saturday, December 15, at 7.30pm.

The Chris Gudu band features a line-up of experienced musicians from around the globe who perform with as much passion and dedication as the main man himself.

Tickets are $25/20 and available from NORPA on 1300 066 772 or online at www.norpa.org.au.
