A 46-year-old man and his Jack Russell terrier were rescued from the flooded Little Back Creek at Kyogle on Tuesday night by SES and police after concerns were raised by his family. The man had gone to a neighbouring property to retrieve the terrier (named Ralph) and on his return he crossed a flooded causeway and his car was washed some 100m down the creek. The man was able to escape from the car and secure himself on a tree in the middle of the creek while the dog stayed in the vehicle. SES workers rescued both the man, who was suffering minor injuries, and the dog using ropes.

A 23-year-old man suffering two stab wounds to his left arm was treated by ambulance paramedics at a home in Newbridge Street, South Lismore, early yesterday (Wednesday) morning. Police issued 14 move-on directions to youth in the Alstonville area on Saturday night after a series of complaints from residents in and around Mantula Place about noise and anti-social behaviour, which had spilled into the CBD from a nearby party.

Lismore Police are urging businesses to check the validity of credit cards used in transactions after a tip-off relating to a credit card scam. Police believe there are a number of bogus cards being used in the area after a Lismore man reportedly received a bill for several thousand dollars last Sunday. The Life Saver Rescue Helicopter airlifted a man suffering spinal injuries from a property near Jiggi to Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane after he was injured in a trampoline accident last Friday morning.
