Perry Wells retires

The Life Saver Rescue Helicopters general manager Perry Wells (pictured) will retire from the service at the end of the year.

Mr Wells retirement brings to a close an outstanding 21-year association with the Rescue Helicopter. He was appointed to the role of fundraising manager in 1986, and assumed the role of general manager in 1991.

Rescue Helicopter chairman Warren Tozer said that under Perrys steady guidance, the organisation has evolved from a volunteer-based surf patrol service into a 24-hour-a-day state-of-the-art aeromedical rescue service.

The position of general manager was advertised last weekend with a view to recruiting a new general manager in the new year.
