Historic day for Rescue Helicopter

Celebrating the latest new arrival at the Life Saver Rescue Helicopter base last week were (l-r) helicopter crewman Mark Sewell, former patients Louise Owen, Lachlan Cowan and Rebecca Batson (with son Judd) and rescue crewmen Tim Sharman and Tim Myers.

The second-hand N2 Dauphin helicopter was purchased in Malaysia at a cost of $5.5 million and will replace one of the existing helicopters.

Life Saver chairman Warren Tozer thanked the community of the northern region for their support, which enabled the purchase of the replacement aircraft.
