Katka has something to crow about

Local artist Katka Adams recently won the $1000 Tursa Art Prize at the North Coast National with her painting Sumatra featuring a rooster of that breed.

Last week Katka joined A&I Society president John Gibson (right) to present her winning work to Glenn Costello from Tursa, who will proudly hang the painting in their Lismore offices.

I love country shows, said Katka. And last year after seeing all the beautiful roosters and chickens I got inspired. Theres such a rich variety of plumage and colours and shapes that now Im drawing a whole series.
