Kyogle health clinic a first for NSW

North Coast Area Health Service CEO Chris Crawford with owner and practitioner of Massage and Medicinals, Jenny Kenneally, on opening day.

A naturopathic clinic has been opened in the grounds of a public hospital for the first time in NSW.

Massage and Medicinals was officially opened by North Coast Area Health Service CEO Chris Crawford in Kyogle recently.

Owner and practitioner Jenny Kenneally has run a private clinic in the area for around nine years and is well known to local people for her work as a pharmacist and naturopath.

The event follows the governments recent mandate at looking at disease prevention and wellness promotion.

There is a place for both medicines although it is not an even playing field and natural medicines need to be made more affordable, said Ms Kenneally.

Ms Kenneally was thrilled that Mr Crawford cut the ribbon and says it heralds a new era.

If our clinic here can pave the way for the acceptance of natural therapy as an effective means of health care in the hands of appropriately trained professionals, Ill be extremely pleased.
