Navy ship open to public

Want something else exciting to do this Saturday apart from casting your vote?

Then get on down to Fawcett Wharf in Ballina from noon to 4pm when the Royal Australian Navy vessel HMAS Brunei will open her gangway to the public.

Bruneis commanding officer Lieutenant Scott Dixon said the ship would arrive in Ballina today (Thursday, November 22) for a five-day port visit.

The 45-metre craft has recently returned from operational deployment in the Solomon Islands.

Lieutenant Dixon said the crew was looking forward to demonstrating the ships capabilities.
