Make a splash at beach volleyball comp

The Big Splash Beach Volleyball Community Challenge will be a major feature of the Ballina RSL Clubs launch weekend activities, celebrating the clubs new refurbishments.

As 2007 is the Year of the Lifesaver, the Ballina RSL has joined forces with the Ballina Lighthouse & Lismore Surf Lifesaving Club to raise awareness regarding the important role that lifesavers play in coastal communities.

All funds raised through the Beach Volleyball Community Challenge will go towards cutting edge new surf rescue boards that will help lifesavers keep swimmers safe.

The Beach Volleyball Community Challenge will be held this Saturday and Sunday, November 17 and 18, in the RSL Memorial Park (opposite the Ballina RSL) on a specially constructed sand court.

Mixed teams of four players over the age of 15 are welcome, and prizes include passes for Byron Bay Hot Air Ballooning and Northern Rivers Beach Trike Tours.

Registration is $20 per team and there will be a BBQ lunch on both days.

For entry forms and details of the launch program visit www.ballinarsl.com.au.
