South Pacific dub for Lismore

Next Tuesday, April 3, the Jazz N Blues night at the Rous Hotel in Lismore will feature some South Pacific dub. Dont know what South Pacific dub is? Well, you will love it when you hear it.

New North Coast band The Witness, featuring the luscious voice of Carla Versitano and the drum slapping skills of Ben Karsay (pictured), will be joined on the night by a host of talented local musos like Sonia Leeson (vocals), Aeron Leslie (keys), Dan Brown (keys), Bodhi Seed (guitar), Dharma Bradridge (bass) and with a special guest horns section!

All that adds up to South Pacific dub which is well, youll just have to hear it for yourself.

Entry is $10/7 and the grooves start at 8.30pm.

Rosanna has designs on female taboo

Artist Rosanna Pimm uses 3500 porcelain tampons to created her large scale performance installation Riots of Passage in The Quad as part of The Lismore Women's Festival on International Women's Day. Laying down and de-constructing the mandala structure symbolises the impermanence of the menstrual cycle and an end to female inequality in the world.
