The Bakers Delight shops in Ballina and Lismore have joined forces with the Our Kids charity to raise $1,300 to purchase a respiratory monitor used to assist babies who have breathing difficulties and for kids with SIDS.

To raise the funds the bakeries will donate 30 cents from the sale of every $5.00 six-pack of Hot Cross Buns sold until April 1, 2007.

An ongoing supporter of Our Kids, the franchisee at Bakers Delight Lismore, Gary George, thought this would be a great opportunity to help the Childrens Ward at the Lismore Base Hospital which sees over 10,000 children each year in the area from Ballina to Tenterfield, Maclean to Mullumbimby.

Colleagues Sean and Belinda Smith, franchisees of Bakers Delight Ballina, said they were delighted that their efforts could also help make a real difference.
