U3A sets records in Lismore

Pattersons Curse by Maggie Cross is one of the works that will be featured in the upcoming U3A exhibition at the Lismore Regional Gallery. Artworks cross a wide range of mediums including watercolour, oil, mixed media, print and photography. The artists range from career artists to people who have started making art during their active retirement.

The largest University of the Third Age (U3A) conference ever held in the state opens in Lismore next Tuesday, March 27.

It will be hosted by U3A Northern Rivers, based in Lismore, which holds more than 30 courses each term by retirees, for retirees.

More than 170 delegates will be attending, representing U3A members from as far afield as Victoria, North Queensland, the ACT and New Zealand.

A major regional art exhibition will run in conjunction with the convention to showcase the creativity of scores of U3A artists and photographers, opening at the Lismore Regional Gallery from 5-7pm next Monday, March 26 and showing until March 31.
