Funds for Richmond Valley events

Applications for the Richmond Valley Council Event Support Scheme close on Friday March 30. Individuals and organisations are encouraged to submit an application for both cash and in-kind support for events to be held in the Richmond Valley between June 2007 and May 2008.

There are two main categories available for funding. The Community Event Fund supports events that contribute significant outcomes to Richmond Valleys social and cultural identity, while the Tourism Event Fund is available to events that can attract substantial participants or attendees from outside the area.

Events that have received support in the past include the Coraki Pro Am Ladies Golf Tournament, Evans Head Triathlon, Coraki Tea Tree Art Prize & Festival, Primex, The Olive Festival and the Casino Garden Show.

Funding guidelines and application forms are available from the Richmond Valley Council website and people are encouraged to discuss their applications with Peter Byrne, the Richmond Valley Council events and cultural liaison officer. Phone for an appointment on 6660 0203.
