Rocky 5 - the Masters sequel

Ding, ding... round five of the Masters Games was launched on Monday at the Golf Club. Masters co-ordinator John the mauler Bancroft was in top form putting together some great combinations of verbal upper cuts and comic jabs as he gave this years Masters an opening to remember.

Eight local sporting legends were honoured during the opening for their commitment to local sport through the years. They were Christine Hajjar, Cheryl Amor, Lisa Brown, Jim Phillips, John Lee, Suellen Innes, Madge Spooner and Beryl Chick.

The Masters Games will run from September 21 to 23 with up to 2000 athletes expected to compete in 14 different sports.
