Singer Marilane de Mello grew up in Brazil surrounded by the emotive music of that Latin lot. In Australia she has fronted many bands and featured on radio and television. Able to play a wide range of styles and rhythms (samba, baiao, lambada, olodum, frevo) she particularly loves the bossa-nova. Marilanes Brazilian Jazz Ensemble will play the Ballina Hotel, this Saturday, March 17, from 7.30pm. Its free.
