Rocker Cocker

Jarvis Cocker (pictured), ex-frontman for Pulp, used to be babysat by fellow Sheffield muso Joe Cocker (who is no relation). Well, something certainly rubbed off on young Jarvis. After leading British sensation Pulp to popular and critical acclaim plus three albums, he is now a world-trotting solo act and will be one of the many classy headliners featuring at the V Festival in Sydney and on the Gold Coast on Saturday, March 31, and Sunday, April 1, respectively.

Did you know that when Michael Jackson came to England in 1996 with a host of worshipping children, a rabbi and with Michael making Christ-like poses, Jarvis and a mate from Pulp invaded the stage as a protest? No-one is really sure against what. (Christ envy?) There was quite a kerfuffle.

But Pulp record sales soared.

Jarvis Cocker will join a very groovy line-up with the Pet Shop Boys, The Valentinos, The Ghosts, Andee Frost, Bang Gang Deejays, Temper Trap, Gnarls Barkley, Groove Amada the list goes on and on.

Tickets are $124.40 and available at www.vfestival.com.auand at all Ticketmaster outlets (1300 799 753).
