Celebrating St Pats

St Patricks Day is a great day for the Irish people, to be sure. A feature of this years celebration will be students of the Lismore School of Irish Dance (pictured) making their way around Ballina and Lismore, sharing their vibrant dancing with community groups, hospitals and aged care facilities.

There will also be a trivia night at the Italo-Australia Club from 7pm on Saturday, March 17. Tickets are $10 and those who dress up for St Patricks Day might find themselves judged the best or worst dressed for the night.

All proceeds of the night will be used to buy new team dresses for the youngest members of the school so they are ready to compete at state and national championships later in the year.

Rosanna has designs on female taboo

Artist Rosanna Pimm uses 3500 porcelain tampons to created her large scale performance installation Riots of Passage in The Quad as part of The Lismore Women's Festival on International Women's Day. Laying down and de-constructing the mandala structure symbolises the impermanence of the menstrual cycle and an end to female inequality in the world.
