The Lismore Garden Club is taking an exciting coac

The Lismore Garden Club is taking an exciting coach trip to see three beautiful gardens at Boambee near Coffs Harbour on Sunday March 25, which are part of The Australian Open Garden Scheme. Anyone can go, you dont have to be a club member. Seats are limited so phone me now to book on 6624 7422 or 0421 021 451. The cost is $35 pp and this includes luxury coach travel, entry into the three gardens and morning tea. For further information on the club, please phone Wally on 6624 1125 or Dot on 6621 4100.

Finally: Unlike spring which is here today and merged into summer tomorrow, autumn is the best season of the year for gardening because the milder days stretch right through until the end of May. Pests and diseases all but disappear and the garden plants respond to the milder conditions by taking on steady, luxuriant growth.

Happy Gardening

Rosanna has designs on female taboo

Artist Rosanna Pimm uses 3500 porcelain tampons to created her large scale performance installation Riots of Passage in The Quad as part of The Lismore Women's Festival on International Women's Day. Laying down and de-constructing the mandala structure symbolises the impermanence of the menstrual cycle and an end to female inequality in the world.
