Rangers rout Ratpack

Division 2 Rous Rebel, Jade Berry, is all smiles after touching down on home base in a recent game. Jade had just clobbered a grand slam against Rous Rogues.

The Rous Rangers cemented their minor premiership of the Far North Coast softball competition with a solid win over the Casino Ratpack on Saturday.

Rangers Rebecca Denning, Libby Cramp and Denise Simes paved the way for a convincing win with some powerful batting.

Workers Condors came home winners over Goonellabah Lotto 11-5 after a Kasey Renwick and Karina Harvey stared with bat and ball, with the two women hammered in home runs. Meanwhile, Goonellabah made far too many errors, and could not capitalise when they had runners on base.

Georgie Flynn was dominant on the mound and Sharon Fish had a strong game at left-field taking some well judged catches.

In the junior league clash between Goonellabah Wildcats and Goonellabah Cheetahs, the Wildcats had the edge over their opponents to take the three competition points. Strong pitching from Matt Claydon to Adam McNarmara lead the way for Wildcats. Wildcats Jamilla Pursche and Jacob Leu starred with bat, while for the Cheetahs Hayden Watt and Daniel Crowther tried hard in the field.
