Le Ba drops in a close third

Le Ba (Lennox Head/Ballina) finished third in the Surftag National Surfing championship, only 18 points behind the eventual winners North Narrabeen, at Sydneys Curl Curl beach over the weekend. Despite a impressive fourth round by Le Bas shredder Marcus Aboody, the locals ended up with a total score of 68.1, with North End second on 68.6 and North Narrabeen 86.2.

Meanwhile, in the Boardriders Cup, a competition between the Open club champions of Australias top 50 surfing clubs, Long Reefs Steve Clements pipped Le Bas Marcus Aboody for the title. Clements picked up the honour after reeling off a series of powerful combinations to rack up 13.3 points to Aboodys 11.5.
