Cheap tix for films

Film buffs can now see all the latest movies for just $8 per ticket this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, March 9-11, at Birch Carroll and Coyle Lismore.

Tickets will only be $8 for Wild Hogs starring John Travolta, Martin Lawrence, Time Allen, Ray Liotta and William H Macy.

In this film a group of suburban biker wannabes looking for adventure hit the open road. But they get more than they bargained for when they encounter a New Mexico gang called the Del Fuegos.

There will also be $8 tickets to see Eddie Murphy in Norbit (M), and for the final instalment of the boxing saga that started 30 years ago with Sylvester Stallone in Rocky Balboa (M). Also at the discounted price are films like Arthur & The Invisibles (PG) and Marie Antoinette (PG) now showing at Birch Carroll & Coyle cinemas.

Plus when patrons head to the cinema during the $8 Ticket Blitz Weekend, theyll also be able to collect a special bounce-back invitation to see another film for just $8 through till May 2.

Rosanna has designs on female taboo

Artist Rosanna Pimm uses 3500 porcelain tampons to created her large scale performance installation Riots of Passage in The Quad as part of The Lismore Women's Festival on International Women's Day. Laying down and de-constructing the mandala structure symbolises the impermanence of the menstrual cycle and an end to female inequality in the world.
