Sara Horts letter is heartening and her energy infectious. Such social responsibility and concern in a young person helps me to feel optimistic about the future of our community. The sort of voluntary work this young correspondent does (and hopes to do in future) is a huge part of what enriches our society and holds it together. Keep on our case, Sara, express your opinions and continue your good work.
From my experience, every action completed, especially for anothers welfare, provides the energy to begin the next thing and the positive spin-off often encourages others to begin doing something meaningful for themselves and for others. This is one of the many benefits of voluntary work.
A team at Lismore Neighbourhood Centre is currently putting together an expo of volunteering. This event, to take place in May, is an opportunity for non-profit organisations in Lismore to show prospective volunteers of all ages how they can get involved in the community and to communicate the many benefits of being a volunteer.
Thank you, Sara, you make a great ambassador for volunteering.
