Blending punk, indie guitar rock, classic pop and surf rockin riffs, the Pixies created a sound that no-one had heard before when they crashed the music scene nearly 20 years ago. They created classic anthems like Here Comes Your Man, Gigantic, Debaser and Monkey Gone to Heaven.
After five albums and constant touring the Pixies called it a day in 1993.
But in 2004 they reformed and the response was huge. The musos are enjoying playing more than ever. Theres even talk of a new album. But in the meantime you can experience the Pixies phenomenon when they perform as part of a huge line-up at the upcoming V Festival on the Gold Coast (at the Avica Resort) on Sunday, April 1.
Also on the bill are the Pet Shop Boys, Phoenix, Gnaris Barkley, Groove Armada, Mercy Arms, Jarvis Cocker... and more. Heaps more.
Tickets are $124.40 from the websitewww.vfestival.com.au a or phone 1300 799 753.
Theres also a V Festival in Sydney at Centennial Park on Saturday, March 31.
