March is Red Cross calling

Dont ignore a knock at the door during March because it could be Red Cross calling.

The Northern NSW regional office is looking for collectors in Lismore, Ballina and Lennox Head, and all it takes is two hours of your time, anytime during March.

Collectors will be provided with a receipt book, identification sticker, information about where the donations will go, a bag to hold the donations, and even a pen.

Northern NSW regional fundraising co-ordinator Scott Krueger said that more collectors are needed to ensure all areas throughout the Northern Rivers are covered.

The more collectors we have the more donations we receive, said Scott. This will ensure the services we provide to the Northern Rivers community are continued and if possible expanded upon.

These services are many and varied, including lifesaving programs, first aid, and Telecross, where a volunteer makes a daily phone call to an elderly, isolated or injured person to check on their well-being. Red Cross also supports local youth with a range of services such as Playscheme, Junior Red Cross, Youth Challenge and Save a Mate.

To collect in your local area phone Scott on 6622 3244 or email skrueger@redcross.org.au.
