Demons summoned from the grave

After a years absence from local ovals, the Nimbin Demons have burst back onto the scene with a new coach and a new committee.

Many of the former players have risen from their footballing graves to join the fray and plenty of younger faces have already signed on as well. Some of the new committee members believe that the 12 month absence was a blessing in disguise, as it allowed all involved to appreciate how important an AFL team is to Nimbin. Now a new wave of enthusiasm is gripping the town, and all involved are determined to ensure that the Nimbin Demons once again become a competitive force in local Aussie Rules.

To celebrate the clubs phoenix-like rise, a family BBQ has been scheduled for this Saturday, February 17, from 12.30pm at Demon Park (aka Nimbin Showground). All interested supporters and potential players are welcome.

Rosanna has designs on female taboo

Artist Rosanna Pimm uses 3500 porcelain tampons to created her large scale performance installation Riots of Passage in The Quad as part of The Lismore Women's Festival on International Women's Day. Laying down and de-constructing the mandala structure symbolises the impermanence of the menstrual cycle and an end to female inequality in the world.
