A fishing adventure without the fish

The concept of adventure fishing can really excite the mind with all kinds of possibilities. So its little wonder that nowadays many anglers are going to remote places and trying to catch top sporting fish. Its still a treasured Australian value that we can go out and catch a nice feed but there is a great rise of interest in fishing as a sport. Recently a group of six anglers headed off to the very remote Kunderang Gorge, which is on the Macleay River. Its very rugged country and the turn off into the retreat between Armidale and Kempsey takes you down 50 kilometres of very steep road. The river is high up in the mountains and there are many rapids to negotiate in a canoe to find the best fishing. The sport fish here is Australian bass. The only problem was that someone must have told the bass we were coming because we scored only one solitary fish from three days of hard going. Anyway, as we say, Thats fishing.
